Born in the heart of Tulsa, shaped by the rhythm of New Orleans, and now rooted in Los Angeles, AM is a composer, top-liner, and multi-instrumentalist with a near-obsessive passion for the marriage of sound and story.
A classic film junkie and vintage vinyl soundtrack collector, AM doesn’t just write music—he channels eras, curates moods, and crafts immersive sonic landscapes that make visuals unforgettable. With an instinctive ability to tap into a wide range of styles—funk, soul, rock, pop, and classic singer-songwriter—his compositions feel like unearthed gems from a lost film reel, seamlessly tailored for the modern screen.
AM has scored and written original songs for a diverse range of projects, including television shows like Greys Anatomy (ABC), New to This Planet (Nickelodeon), Sesame Street (PBS), Cobra Kai (Netflix), Walker (CW), New Amsterdam (NBC) and animated projects like Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (Dreamworks). His music has fueled promos for video games like Call of Duty and The Sims, as well as high-profile ad campaigns for brands like Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret, Sephora, Big Lots, Lexus, Dunkin’ Donuts, DKNY, Airborne, Best Buy, and Peloton. With over 500 placements in films, television shows, and commercials, AM crafts cinematic, emotionally compelling music that brings filmmakers’ visions to life. Most recently in 2025, AM wrote and produced the theme song for a spin off of the Smurfs animated series.
AM’s career began as a signed recording artist sharing festival stages and touring the world with tastemaker bands such as AIR, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Caetano Veloso, Thievery Corporation and The Flaming Lips. When KCRW and other tastemaker radio stations around the world championed his music, Hollywood took notice—leading to his debut album making history as one of the only records where every song was licensed for film, TV, or advertising (a feat previously only achieved by Moby).
But AM isn’t just inspired by film music—he lives it. His collection of rare vintage vinyl soundtracks spans everything from obscure European crime thrillers to lush, orchestral scores from forgotten Hollywood classics. He absorbs the nuances of Ennio Morricone, Lalo Schifrin, François de Roubaix, and Piero Umiliani, weaving their spirit into his own sonic fingerprint. Whether crafting sweeping cinematic themes, pulse-pounding action sequences, or hypnotic, sultry soundscapes, AM brings a film composer’s mindset to every project.

AM is an American songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist/DJ and record collector based in Los Angeles, California. Most recently, AM released his full-length albums “Precious Life” produced with Joey Waronker (Beck, Atoms For Peace, Roger Waters) and “Outlines” with electro soul-partner Shawn Lee (Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra, AM & Shawn Lee.) AM has toured the world with bands such as AIR, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Caetano Veloso, and Thievery Corporation, and he has performed at over 30 worldwide festivals sharing the main stage with The Flaming Lips, Diplo and Duran Duran.
Broadening his songwriting and production chops further, AM has a myriad of new music projects slated for release. Debut’s from electro-pop girl group Headband, hard hitting rock groups Arch Leaves and Grand Mystic, and a new soul funk project Miami Young, will further reveal AM’s boundless versatility as a songwriter and producer. From synth anthem “Dark Into Light” and soulfully hush “The World Will Go On Without You”, to sleng teng slink jam “Two Times”, AM is able to straddle the intimate and the accessible with ease.
AM’s music is regularly featured in commercials, TV shows, films, and video games. Recent placements include Call Of Duty, Victoria’s Secret, Dunkin’ Donuts, Best Buy, Caress, Narcos, Animal Planet and Lexus Hybrid. AM also works as a composer for film and television, most recently creating original music for HBO’s Sesame Street.
A self described vintage soundtrack and library music “obsessive”, AM co-hosts “Rendezvous”, a like-minded DJ collective in Los Angeles. He is executive producing the first ever up-coming documentary film “The Library Music Film” with Shawn Lee and is set to release his first vintage library compilation of previously unreleased television and film music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
